What Actually Happens During a Mobile Tyre Fitting Visit

Never had a mobile tyre fitting before? Here's a step-by-step guide to exactly what happens from the moment our technician arrives.

What Actually Happens During a Mobile Tyre Fitting Visit

If you've never used a mobile tyre fitting service before, you might be wondering what to expect. The process is simpler and more professional than many first-time customers anticipate. Here's a complete walkthrough of what happens from when our technician arrives at your location to when they drive away.

Arrival and Initial Checks

Our technician arrives in a clearly branded service van, fully stocked with equipment and tyres. They'll greet you, confirm the details of your booking, and carry out a quick inspection of the tyre to be replaced and a visual check of all other tyres. If they notice anything concerning on the remaining tyres, they'll mention it — not to upsell, but because it's their professional responsibility to flag safety issues. You're never under any obligation to purchase additional tyres.

Removal and Fitting

The technician lifts the vehicle using a professional hydraulic jack and places it on axle stands for safety. The old tyre is removed using a portable tyre machine capable of handling alloy wheels without damage. The new tyre is mounted onto the rim, inflated to the correct pressure, and placed onto a dynamic balancing machine that spins the wheel and identifies any weight imbalance. Balance weights are applied precisely to eliminate vibration. The valve is replaced with a new one as standard — old valves can crack and cause slow leaks.

Final Checks and Handover

Once the wheel is refitted and the wheel bolts tightened to the correct torque specification using a torque wrench, the technician will check the tyre pressure on all four wheels and adjust any that are outside the recommended range. They'll also reset your TPMS system if required. You'll receive a printed or digital receipt detailing the work done, and the technician will answer any questions before leaving. The old tyre is taken away for proper recycling — you don't need to worry about disposal.

The entire process for a single tyre typically takes 30 to 40 minutes. For a full set of four, allow around 45 to 60 minutes. Enzo Mobile Tyres carries out fittings to this standard at every appointment, across Nottingham and North London.
